Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade are something like a power couple. D.Wade just lead his team, the Miami Heat, to a NBA Championship and Gabrielle Union is an award winning actress. However, despite how things may look on the outside, Gabrielle Union has gone through her fair share of drama with her basketball boo and his ex wife, Shiovaughn. Gabrielle says that Shiovaughn’s representation of her being a “homewrecker” has been damaging to her career, despite the fact that she says that she didn’t begin dating Dwayne until after he was already going through his divorce.

Gabrielle caught up with TT Torrez at the Radio One Music Festival in Miami over the weekend and opened up about the situation. She stated,

“It’s hard because, aside from loving him, I want to protect myself. I’ve built my life. I built my own brand. I built my career and my career took a hit from that madness because some people refuse to see the truth, even when it’s presented to them time and time again. I love him but at some point it’s about self preservation.”
