Miss Jessie’s and Perfecting Purpose celebrated fatherhood on Sunday June 10th, with a mixer and partial screening of the documentary “From Fatherless to Fatherhood” at Miss Jessie’s Salon.
From Fatherless To Fatherhood, directed by filmmaker Kobie Brown, explores the causes, effects and possible solutions to father absence, while providing examples of men who are fostering healthy relationships with their children, families and community.
Attendees were quoted as saying, “The film was moving, informative and a positive display of fatherhood in the African American Community.”
Special guests of the evening included Miko and TiTi Branch (founders of Miss Jessie’s), Alan Farrell (NYC’s Fatherhood Czar), Garland Mosley (father of super producer Timbaland).
