Harlem rapper, G. Dep, has just received his sentencing for his involvement in the 1993 robbery and murder of John Henkel in New York City. He will spend the next 15 years to life behind bars which is the minimum sentence for this crime. The 37 year old rapper who’s real name is Trevell Coleman, confessed of the shooting and was unaware that the victim, John Henkel, had lost his life at the time. In 2010, he told the NY post, that he knew he “wasn’t going home after this” upon learning if Henkel’s passing.
G. Dep was signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Record Label and is mostly known for his hit rap song, “Special Delivery”. He was found guilty of this crime after a trial that only lasted five days.
