It look like Young Jeezy is following in the foot steps of his mentor Jay-Z. The Atlanta rapper has been named Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records.
He announced the good news viz Twitter. “From the streets to the Boardroom. SVP of A&R at Atlantic Records I am. Let’s Get it! Corporate thuggin to the max!” Tweeted Jeezy.
He will sign and develop new talent and work with the label’s current artist. This is a good lok especially considering he is currently signed to Def Jam.
He’s not the first artist to take on an executive role. His mentor Jay-Z held the position of President at Def Jam for three years, while his “Leave You Alone” collaborator Ne-Yo currently holds the title of SVP of A&R at Motown Records.
