Jonathan Majors’ Ex-Girlfriend Drops Assault and Defamation Lawsuit

Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, dropped a federal lawsuit against the actor on Thursday, in which she accused him of assault and defamation.
The actor, known for his roles in Creed III and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was convicted in December 2023 on two misdemeanor counts for assaulting Jabbari in an SUV. He was sentenced to domestic violence counseling earlier this year.
Jabbari filed the defamation lawsuit in March, claiming Majors falsely insisted in a Good Morning America interview that he had “never laid [his] hands on a woman,” despite the guilty verdict.
On Thursday, both parties’ lawyers submitted a joint notice to the court, confirming that all claims against Majors had been dismissed with prejudice, meaning the case is closed.
One of Jabbari’s attorneys, Brad Edwards, said Friday: “That is how every case ends after it is resolved.”
Another of her lawyers, Brittany Henderson, said the case had been settled “favorably.”
“Grace Jabbari has exhibited tremendous courage throughout this very long and difficult process,” Henderson said. “As a result of her commitment to justice, the lawsuit that she filed against Jonathan Majors has been favorably settled. We hope that she can finally put this chapter behind her and move forward with her head held high.”
Majors had been on track for a breakout year in 2023, with high-profile roles in Creed III and as the villain Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, after his March 2023 arrest, he was dropped by his management and PR teams, and Marvel severed ties with him following his conviction. His planned lead role as Kang in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty was scrapped, and the film was reworked into Avengers: Doomsday, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
Despite the setbacks, Majors has continued to work. He was cast in the thriller Merciless, directed by Martin Villeneuve, and his film Magazine Dreams was acquired for release by Briarcliff Entertainment after Searchlight Pictures dropped it. Majors has consistently denied the assault allegations and remains determined to revive his Hollywood career.
