Alaska Airlines Flight Attendant Gets Fired For Twerking On The Job

Nelle Diala, a former flight attendant for Alaska Airlines, has been terminated from her position after posting a viral TikTok video of herself twerking on an empty flight. The clip, which has garnered over 72,000 views, was initially captioned, “ghetto bih till i D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you.”

Diala, a San Francisco native, shared that the dance was meant to celebrate completing her probationary period at the airline—a personal victory reflecting her journey from a challenging upbringing. “I was also celebrating the end of probation and making it out of a hard upbringing in San Francisco, something many people in the industry could relate to,” she explained.

However, the video sparked widespread attention and scrutiny rather than the support Diala had anticipated. “The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected scrutiny,” she shared in a statement.

While Diala acknowledged that posting the video was a poor decision, she expressed regret over the consequences. “Although it was a poor decision on my behalf, I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job,” she wrote.

The incident has sparked discussions about social media conduct and professionalism in the workplace, raising questions about how personal expression online can impact professional careers.
