Rapper and actor Clifford “Method Man” Smith, best known as a member of the iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan, was reportedly involved in a physical altercation at a Crunch Fitness gym on Staten Island, according to what law enforcement sources told the NY Post. The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday, when Method Man, 53, became involved in a confrontation with a man, identified as a 28-year-old, at the fitness center.

The sources indicated that the altercation escalated when Method Man allegedly struck the man multiple times, delivering seven punches to the face with a closed fist. The motive behind the altercation appears to stem from a personal matter tied to the victim’s previous relationship with Method Man’s daughter, which reportedly dates back over a decade.

After the incident, the victim claimed to have experienced facial pain and dizziness but declined medical assistance at the scene, according to authorities. Despite the altercation, Method Man was not arrested, though a complaint report was filed with the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Though the situation was serious enough for a formal complaint to be lodged, it remains unclear whether charges will be pursued. At this time, Method Man, who is also known for his acting career and roles in shows like Power and The Wire, has not made any public statements regarding the alleged incident.

The story is still developing, and further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
