DJ Akademiks Permanently Banned from Twitch Following Grooming Allegations
DJ Akademiks has been permanently banned from Twitch following serious allegations of grooming a 15-year-old boy during a livestream. The controversial media personality, known for his bold online presence, has faced heavy backlash after the incident, leading to swift action from the streaming platform.
In addition to the Twitch ban, both Stake, an online gambling platform, and Happy Dad Hard Seltzer have cut ties with Akademiks, unfollowing him on social media and severing their business relationships. The fallout from these allegations has been significant, affecting both his career and brand partnerships.
While Akademiks maintains that his ban was not related to the grooming accusations, he claims it was due to a separate incident where he called Adin Ross—who has also been permanently banned from Twitch—on stream. Akademiks said he was attempting to confirm if Ross had donated $10,000 to help cover medical expenses for Kendrick Lamar’s cousin’s parents, who were in need of hospital beds and a new wheelchair.
