Will Smith Announces New Album ‘Based On A True Story,’ His First In Nearly 20 Years

Will Smith is officially returning to the rap scene with his upcoming album, Based On A True Story, set to drop in March, according to Billboard.
The project marks Smith’s first full-length LP since Lost and Found in 2005. It will serve as the first installment of a planned three-part series, which he is releasing under SLANG Recordings.
The album’s lead single, “Beautiful Scars,” features Big Sean and Obanga, with production from OmArr and LeXoskeleton. The song’s music video reportedly has Smith and Big Sean rocking Matrix-inspired outfits.
This comeback follows a period of public scrutiny for Smith, but it appears he’s ready to shift the conversation back to his music. Are you excited for his return?
