Suge Knight, the infamous co-founder of Death Row Records, never shies away from sharing wild stories, and his latest interview with The Art of Dialogue was no exception. In a revealing conversation, Knight recounted an intense encounter between 2Pac and Snoop Dogg that allegedly took place after the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards, following Snoop’s appearance on Hot 97.

According to Knight, 2Pac was enraged after hearing Snoop Dogg publicly claim that The Notorious B.I.G. and Diddy were his friends. Knight explained that 2Pac had a deep loyalty to Death Row and its members, feeling personally betrayed by Snoop’s words.

“‘Pac was so mad because ‘Pac loved those dudes. He’d always ride for them, and he brought it up. He said, ‘Man, I just came to fck with you but I fck with everybody on Death Row. I put everybody on my album. For this fool to go up there and get on the radio and say f*ck me and he’s riding with them, it’s on,’” Knight recalled.

The tension reportedly escalated when 2Pac and Snoop met face to face. Knight described the altercation, stating, “When we got downstairs, ’Pac took off on Snoop. ’Pac ran up on him and did what he did, Snoop ran this way, ’Pac running behind him. I stopped it.” Knight said he intervened, advising both men to wait until they flew back home to settle their differences.

Despite Knight’s efforts to mediate, tensions between 2Pac and Snoop Dogg reportedly lingered until 2Pac’s tragic death later that year in 1996.
