GELO performs “TWEAKER” at NBA All Star Weekend

LiAngelo Ball Takes the Stage at All-Star Weekend, Shifting from Basketball to Music
During the NBA All-Star Weekend at Chase Center, LiAngelo Ball made waves in a different arena: music. The former Charlotte Hornets guard performed his breakout hit, “Tweaker,” on All-Star Saturday Night. His older brother, Lonzo Ball of the Chicago Bulls, introduced him to the stage, adding a special familial touch to the performance. The two, along with their younger brother, LaMelo Ball, are all stars of the basketball world, though LiAngelo has carved out a unique path of his own.
“Tweaker,” released on January 3rd, quickly captured attention, debuting at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Its success marked a milestone in LiAngelo’s career, a stark contrast to the challenges he faced in basketball. Despite being undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft and briefly signing an Exhibit 10 deal with the Detroit Pistons before being waived, LiAngelo never secured a spot on an NBA roster. He spent two seasons with the Greensboro Swarm in the G League, where he averaged 4.4 points per game on 38.6% shooting, including 33.7% from three-point range.
Although he struggled to make a permanent impact on the court, LiAngelo’s music career has taken off. Just last month, he signed a lucrative deal with Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Group, worth up to $13 million. As part of the deal, he also gained full ownership of his music and his own record label.
LiAngelo Ball may not have had the NBA career his brothers enjoyed, but his debut on the All-Star stage and his rise in the music industry prove that he’s found his place in the spotlight.
