Despite losing in court, ASAP Relli is not backing down. The rapper recently brought criminal charges against ASAP Rocky, accusing him of assault, but Rocky was acquitted, with the court finding him not guilty of two felony assault charges. However, Relli is undeterred by the verdict and has decided to pursue a civil lawsuit against Rocky, which has been in the works since 2021.

Rolling Stone confirmed that Relli received the green light to proceed with his civil case on Wednesday. While the lawsuit had been on hold during the criminal trial, Relli is now eager to resume the fight, especially after the public mockery he faced during the trial. Tensions ran high between Relli and Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, and Relli even shared pointed remarks towards Tacopina and Rocky during the proceedings.

Relli also responded to the social media backlash that followed Rocky’s not guilty verdict. In an Instagram post, he dismissed his critics, saying, “Gossiping is a form of entertainment for people who have no meaningful goals or purpose in life. Hate me, bring shame to my name, say bad things about me, I don’t care. Your existence doesn’t add any value to my life.”

Relli’s attorney, Melissa Mikail, reiterated their resolve, explaining that the standards for a criminal case are much higher than those in a civil matter. “We still believe our claims have merit and intend on fully litigating them,” Mikail stated, signaling that the legal battle is far from over.

While Rocky has been celebrating his acquittal with praise from fans and celebrities alike, as well as teasing the release of his highly anticipated album, DON’T BE DUMB, it remains to be seen if Relli’s civil lawsuit will cause any setbacks to his plans. One thing is clear: ASAP Relli is not finished with ASAP Rocky.
