Sexyy Red Faces Lawsuit Over Asking Her Social Media Followers To Attack Her Kid’s Grandmother

St. Louis native rapper Sexyy Red, whose real name is Janae Wherry, is facing a lawsuit after allegedly urging her followers to attack her child’s grandmother. The lawsuit, filed Monday, claims that Sexyy Red called on her fans through social media to “kick in the door” of the grandmother’s home in Hazelwood, Missouri.

The legal complaint alleges that the rapper incited violence against Nicole Barnes, the child’s grandmother, and encouraged her followers to physically harm the woman. Barnes, who claims she and her family were forced to relocate for their safety, says the threats have caused her significant emotional distress. She reports that she has been living in constant fear since the incident, even seeking therapy to cope with the trauma.

Barnes is now seeking $5 million in damages, citing the emotional and psychological toll the situation has taken on her and her family. The case raises serious concerns about the responsibility of public figures in managing their online presence and the impact their words can have on others.
