Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson made a significant move toward transforming Shreveport’s entertainment landscape during a recent city council meeting. Jackson, who signed a lease agreement with the city nearly a year ago, stood before the council on Tuesday to finalize the 30-year lease for the Stageworks building. The deal promises to bring economic growth, job opportunities, and a new wave of entertainment to the region.

“This is exciting, I’m just excited to be here today,” Jackson said with enthusiasm. The Shreveport City Council voted unanimously to approve the agreement, marking a major step forward for Jackson’s ambitious plans for the city.

District A City Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor emphasized Jackson’s commitment to the community, saying, “Curtis 50 Cent Jackson was present in the council chambers today to reestablish again his commitment to Shreveport, Louisiana.” This agreement solidifies Jackson’s vision for the Stageworks building, which has sat largely unused for nearly two decades.

The 30-year lease is set to breathe new life into the facility, with plans for G-Unit Studios to transform it into a hub for both entertainment and sports. City leaders are optimistic about the economic impact, with District B Councilman Gary Brooks noting, “It hasn’t been utilized almost at all, so we’re looking forward to a bright future with Mr. Jackson.”

Jackson expressed pride in the project, calling it a “legacy project” and promising to “over-deliver” on his vision for the area. “The support from this project is important to me,” he said.
