Soulja Boy has been found liable in a civil lawsuit involving serious allegations of assault, sexual battery, and emotional distress. The verdict was delivered on Thursday (April 10) in a Santa Monica, California courtroom, where the jury ruled in favor of the woman who filed the lawsuit in 2021.

After just one day of deliberations, the jury concluded that the Atlanta rapper was responsible for multiple charges, including assault, sexual battery, and infliction of emotional distress. However, they did not find him liable for claims of false imprisonment or creating a hostile work environment.

As a result, the victim has been awarded more than $4 million in compensatory damages. The trial will now move into a new phase to determine whether Soulja Boy will also have to pay punitive damages. The accuser had initially sought $73.6 million in total.

“We’re happy our client was vindicated and the jury believed her claims of physical and sexual assault,” said attorney Ron Zambrano, who represents the plaintiff. “We’re looking forward to moving on to the punitive damages phase of the case.”

This verdict marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal battle and could lead to further financial penalties in the coming days.
