Madame Tussauds Hollywood Unveils Wax Figure Honoring Viola Davis

Madame Tussauds Hollywood has revealed a strikingly lifelike wax figure of acclaimed actress and EGOT winner Viola Davis, celebrating her trailblazing career and profound cultural impact.

Davis, the first African American to achieve the prestigious Triple Crown of Acting—earning an Academy Award, an Emmy, and two Tony Awards—worked closely with the museum’s artists to ensure the figure’s precision. Sculptors took over 200 detailed measurements and photographs to authentically capture her likeness.

“This is what art is supposed to do. This is how art is supposed to make you feel,” Davis said during the unveiling. “It’s transcendental.”

The figure is dressed in the red Giorgio Armani Privé gown Davis famously wore to the 2017 Oscars, where she won Best Supporting Actress for Fences. The look is completed with platform sneakers and a replica of her wedding ring, reflecting her personal style and grace.

Tom Middleton, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hollywood, praised the tribute: “Viola Davis continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her powerful performances and extraordinary talent. This figure is a tribute to her lasting influence in the entertainment industry.”

The unveiling comes just ahead of the release of Davis’s new action-thriller G20, premiering April 10 on Amazon Prime. With a career that includes standout roles in The Woman King, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Help, and How to Get Away with Murder, Davis remains a powerhouse in film and television.

The wax figure is now on display at Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Fans can experience the tribute in person and celebrate one of Hollywood’s most respected icons. Visit madametussauds.com/hollywood for more info and tickets.
