On Friday (Apr. 11), Kendrick Lamar unveiled the official music video for “Luther,” his soulful collaboration with SZA, and it’s already making waves. The five-minute visual, now trending at No. 5 on YouTube Music, blends minimalist aesthetics with emotional storytelling.

Shot in both color and black and white, the video mirrors the track’s laid-back vibe, offering a glimpse into the inner world of Kendrick as he reflects on the complexities of love. SZA brings a smooth, feminine presence to the screen, as the duo harmonize through the emotional highs and lows of a relationship.

“Luther” samples the 1982 classic “If This World Were Mine” by Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn, grounding the song in nostalgia while pushing forward with fresh, modern energy. The track appears on Kendrick’s GNX album, released in November 2024, and has remained a Billboard chart-topper for weeks.

In just a few hours, the video has already racked up over 1.5 million views—cementing yet another win for Kendrick and SZA’s undeniable musical chemistry.
