Actor Omar Gooding Drops a Diss Song Called “Fix Ya Mouth” Aimed at Cam’ron

Cam’ron’s recent remarks about the career paths of Black actors sparked a fiery response from actor and rapper Omar Gooding. On his show It Is What It Is, the Dipset rapper discussed the challenges veteran Black actors face, specifically mentioning Ving Rhames and Omar Gooding Jr. Cam’ron suggested that rather than waiting to be cast, actors should use their own resources to finance their own projects.

“No disrespect to nobody I’m talking about,” Cam said, “But if you’re Ving Rhames or Omar Gooding Jr., y’all n-ggas sitting around… I would have saved my money and shot my own shit by now.” He argued that Black actors often have to wait for someone like 50 Cent to give them an opportunity.

Gooding, who apparently took issue with both being mentioned and having “Junior” tacked onto his name, responded with a diss track titled “Fix Ya Mouth” on January 25. In the track, Gooding addressed Cam’s comments, calling out the rapper for the “ignorant” pronunciation of his name and his perceived disrespect.

On Instagram, Gooding clarified that he doesn’t consider the song a “diss,” but rather a response to being called out. He also teased more content to come, writing, “I’ve got a WHOLE LOT to say… time to speak up.”

Cam’ron, however, didn’t seem too rattled by the response. After hearing the track, he took to Instagram to post a comment under Gooding post, filled with crying-laughing emojis and a simple message: “Lo[l] my bad bro. I don’t want no smoke.”
