Alec Baldwin’s Manslaughter Case Dismissed, Actor Emotional in Court

Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning he cannot be retried on the same charge. The case stemmed from the accidental shooting that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ruled that live ammunition evidence had been concealed from Baldwin’s defense, which was prejudicial. Baldwin, who faced up to 18 months in prison, became emotional upon hearing the dismissal and was seen hugging his wife, Hilaria, in the courtroom. The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, remains convicted for loading the live rounds.
