Big Sean recently opened up about the joys and challenges of fatherhood in a heartfelt interview with Jay Shetty on the On Purpose podcast. The rapper, who welcomed his son, Noah Hasani, with partner Jhené Aiko in 2022, shared insights into his parenting journey and what he hopes to instill in his child.

Sean described fatherhood as “time traveling,” reflecting on the way lineage and family history shape the present. “People always try and figure out how to preserve themselves,” he said. “I think that your blood, your lineage…you really do time travel.” Sean also drew connections between himself and his late grandfather, emphasizing the importance of healing from trauma to avoid passing it down to future generations. “You pass on the good and the bad,” he explained. “It’s really important to work on yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.”

When asked about his biggest fears, Sean admitted to worrying about losing everything and returning to his struggles in Detroit. However, he emphasized that confidence is a core value he hopes to teach his son. “You imprint that in a young child by building up his confidence,” he said. “That’s one of the things I love about my boy. He’s so confident… That’s something I want to keep feeding him.”

Sean also highlighted Noah’s personality, describing him as having a “great heart” and a “great spirit” while already showing a love for making people laugh. “One of the things I want to pass on to him is [to] be confident in who you are because you have what it takes,” he said. “I just want to keep [watering] that confidence in him.”

This rare glimpse into Big Sean’s life as a father showcases his deep dedication to raising his son with love, resilience, and a strong sense of self. Fans continue to admire the rapper not just for his music but also for his thoughtful approach to family and fatherhood.
