Brandy Gets Her Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Brandy Norwood, the acclaimed singer and actress, has been selected to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of the Class of 2024.

Brandy’s career, spanning music, television, and film, has solidified her status as a multifaceted entertainer. She gained prominence in the 1990s with hits like “I Wanna Be Down” and “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet with Monica that earned her a Grammy Award. Her television career includes starring in the popular sitcom “Moesha,” which aired from 1996 to 2001.

In addition to her musical achievements, Brandy made history by portraying the first Black Cinderella in the 1997 television adaptation of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” alongside Whitney Houston. This groundbreaking role has been celebrated for its cultural significance and impact on diverse representation in media.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2024 includes other notable figures such as Toni Braxton, Dr. Dre, and the late Chadwick Boseman.

The selection committee, chaired by Ellen K, stated, “The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”

As of now, the dates for the star ceremonies have not been scheduled. Recipients have two years to arrange their ceremonies from the date of selection. Upcoming star ceremonies are typically announced ten days prior to the dedication on the official website.

Brandy’s recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame underscores her enduring influence and contributions to the entertainment industry, inspiring fans and fellow artists alike.
