Casanova Gives First Interview From Prison, Claims Tory Lanez Is His Inspiration and Innocent
Casanova has broken his silence from prison, speaking to XXL in his first interview since being incarcerated. The Brooklyn rapper opened up about his legal battles, his mindset behind bars, and his controversial stance on Tory Lanez’s conviction.
Serving a 15-year sentence after pleading guilty to racketeering and drug-related charges, Casanova maintained that he’s staying strong despite the circumstances. “I made my bed, now I gotta lay in it,” he told XXL. “I’m just focused on doing my time and coming out better than before.”
One of the most surprising moments in the interview came when Casanova calls Tory Lanez his inspiration and insisted that he’s innocent, despite the Canadian rapper being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. “That man ain’t do it,” Casanova claimed. “I know what it’s like to have the system against you. They wanted to make an example out of him.”
His comments have already sparked backlash online, with many fans questioning why he would defend Lanez despite overwhelming evidence presented in court.
Elsewhere in the interview, Casanova also reflected on the friendships he’s lost since being locked up and how he’s using his time to reflect on his life choices.
What do you think about Casanova’s take on the Tory Lanez case? Let us know in the comments.
