Claressa Shields took to social media this week to set the record straight about her suspension, which has officially been lifted. In a bold and direct Instagram post, the two-time Olympic gold medalist shared the news: “Officially unsuspended! But y’all a little quiet! Y’all was real loud about me ‘supposedly’ smoking marijuana and being suspended! No worries! And still an Undisputed heavyweight champ! I have the Order to prove it!!!”

Shields followed up by going live on Instagram to further clarify the situation and dispel rumors. Speaking candidly to her followers, she explained, “Was I around somebody that’s smoking? Yeah. I was. The Dort Federal. Everybody was in there smoking.”

However, she was quick to clarify that smoking weed is not her lifestyle. “First of all, people don’t know my life. I don’t understand why they’re smoking weed. That ain’t even how I roll. That’s not how I work. Claressa Shields suspended for smoking weed? Do it look like I need some damn weed? Nope. It don’t,” Shields said.

Reflecting on the legal process, Shields mentioned her trial on March 6, where she and her lawyer met with the Michigan State Unarmed Combat Commission for an hour and a half. After an eight-day wait, she received the official court order, confirming that she is now unsuspended.

To the excitement of her fans, Shields concluded the session by holding up the official court order, stating, “It’s a court order that I’m unsuspended.”
