Claressa Shields, the undefeated world champion boxer, recently sparked controversy with a bold statement on social media, claiming that light-skinned women are often the ones disrespecting her online. According to Shields, these women act as though their lighter skin makes them superior or entitled to criticize her. She boldly responded to such comments, saying, “It’s always the light skinned girls who think they just so pretty and just because they’re born light skinned that they just all that.”

Shields further asserted her confidence by declaring, “I look better than you,” and questioned why these individuals would engage with her posts if they didn’t like her. She also emphasized that the majority of the negativity she faces online comes from light-skinned women, accusing them of hating on her success and appearance. In her words, “It’s giving obsessed. It’s giving upset light skin, red bone.”

The boxer also defended her features, challenging critics who focus on her appearance, including her strong jawline. “I’m our ancestors’ dream, girls,” she said, proudly embracing her unique look and heritage. Shields’ statement has since fueled discussions about colorism and online bullying, with many fans supporting her for standing up for herself.
