Colombia’s national police stopped a man attempting to board a flight to Amsterdam with $42 million Colombian Pesos (around $10,000 USD) worth of cocaine cleverly hidden in a “Narco wig.”

The 40-year-old man, hailing from Colombia’s Coffee Region, was about to board his flight at Cartagena’s Rafael Núñez International Airport when a security scanner revealed something suspicious beneath his thick synthetic black wig. Upon closer inspection, authorities discovered nine cocaine capsules concealed inside.

Video footage of the arrest shows officers carefully cutting away at the wig, revealing the hidden drugs. The National Police later confirmed that the bust prevented the sale of over 400 doses of cocaine, potentially worth more than 10,000 euros in European markets.

The man, who has a history of drug trafficking charges, is now facing another charge in connection with the smuggling attempt. While authorities have yet to link him to any specific criminal organization, they believe he’s working for someone, and investigations are ongoing.
