Dearica Hamby Sues Las Vegas Aces and WNBA for Discrimination After Pregnancy Announcement
Los Angeles Sparks forward Dearica Hamby has filed a lawsuit against her former team, the Las Vegas Aces, and the WNBA, alleging discrimination, retaliation, and intimidation following her pregnancy announcement. Hamby claims her mistreatment led to her trade to the Sparks in January 2023 and accuses the league of failing to properly investigate her complaints. She is seeking compensation for economic losses, punitive damages, and attorney’s fees. The WNBA previously suspended Aces coach Becky Hammon for workplace policy violations and penalized the team for separate issues involving Hamby.
