Cop Who Killed George Floyd Gets ‘Poked Up’ In Prison

Disgraced former police officer Derek Chauvin, convicted in the murder of George Floyd, was reportedly stabbed in a federal prison and subsequently hospitalized. Fortunately, his injuries are deemed non-life-threatening, according to confirmation from TMZ.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison’s spokesperson informed TMZ that Chauvin’s condition is stable after the assault occurred at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona, on Friday. In response, Ellison expressed sadness, stating, “I am sad to hear that Derek Chauvin was the target of violence. He was duly convicted of his crimes and, like any incarcerated individual, he should be able to serve his sentence without fear of retaliation or violence.”

Ellison was the prosecutor in Chauvin’s state murder case following George Floyd’s death in 2020. The Bureau of Prisons issued a statement, not directly naming Chauvin, acknowledging an attack on an “incarcerated person” around 12:30 PM at the prison. Although the assailant’s identity remains unclear, the Associated Press reported it was another inmate.

Prison staff swiftly intervened, bringing the situation under control and administering “life-saving measures” to the victim. Fortunately, no employees were harmed during the incident, and the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation.

As they say what goes around comes around.
