DJ Akademiks Reacts to Alleged Diss in Kendrick Lamar’s New Song

DJ Akademiks is in a frenzy after Kendrick Lamar seemingly targeted him in a newly released untitled song. The track includes bars that fans believe are aimed directly at Akademiks, with lines like, “Influencers talk down ’cause I’m not with the basic sh*t,” and “The radio personality pushing propaganda for salary.” These lyrics appear to reference Akademiks, an outspoken Drake supporter, who has been accused of promoting biased narratives in favor of the Toronto rapper.

Akademiks wasted no time reacting to the apparent diss. Upon hearing the track, he posted a distressed “No no noooo” comment on Lamar’s Instagram, making it clear he wasn’t pleased to be on the receiving end of a Kendrick Lamar verse. He later elaborated on his frustration during his Wednesday night stream, where he criticized Lamar for engaging in what seemed like a subtle continuation of the beef between the two. He remarked, “You can’t say there isn’t a game 2, then immediately drop a track seemingly baiting game 2.”

Akademiks also took to Twitter, mockingly calling out Lamar for not launching a full album rollout, despite dropping this surprise track. “Drop a single,” he tweeted, hinting that Lamar should focus on releasing hit records rather than subliminal jabs. This isn’t the first time Lamar and Akademiks have clashed. The rapper previously called out the internet personality by name on “6:16 In LA,” a track released during the height of Lamar’s beef with Drake.

Akademiks, a media figure known for amplifying hip-hop feuds and offering sharp commentary, seems to feel particularly stung by Lamar’s lyrical shots. Whether this diss escalates into more direct confrontations remains to be seen, but the internet personality has made it clear that he’s not backing down quietly.
