DJ Akademiks Slams Adam22 for Interviewing Pop Smoke’s Alleged Killer, Blockstar

DJ Akademiks criticized Adam22 for interviewing Blockstar, one of the suspects in Pop Smoke‘s murder. Blockstar, now 19, was recently released after serving four years in juvenile detention. In the interview, Blockstar expressed no remorse for the killing, stating he wasn’t sorry but sent condolences to Pop Smoke’s family.
Akademiks called the interview a “dangerous precedent,” suggesting it encourages clout-chasing by giving a platform to individuals involved in high-profile crimes. He warned that such interviews could have serious repercussions. Akademiks himself has faced criticism for sensationalizing violence in hip-hop.
