Eve Reveals She Suffered An Ectopic Pregnancy While Filming Her 2003 Sitcom

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, rapper Eve shared a deeply personal experience from her past as she prepares to release her memoir, Who’s That Girl? The book details her struggles with endometriosis and fibroids, but Eve also opened up about a painful experience she kept private for years: an ectopic pregnancy she endured while filming her 2006 sitcom, Eve.

Eve revealed that she discovered the pregnancy during the show’s production. An ectopic pregnancy, where the embryo implants outside the uterus, required her to undergo emergency surgery and take a two-week break from filming. To cover her absence, she told the cast and crew that her appendix had ruptured, a story she admits was a way to mask her true feelings and the emotional turmoil she was going through.

She struggled with denial and didn’t grieve the loss of her baby properly for several years. It wasn’t until she began acknowledging the loss and forgiving herself that she began to heal emotionally. Despite these challenges, Eve eventually welcomed a healthy son, Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper, in 2022, with her husband, Maximillion Cooper. Now 45, Eve is focused on providing a fulfilling childhood for her son and cherishing her role as a mother.
