Iman Shumpert is strongly rejecting claims that he leaked any details about his high-profile divorce from Teyana Taylor. In a statement to TMZ Sports on Wednesday, Shumpert’s attorney, Stephen C. Steele, emphatically denied Taylor’s allegations that Shumpert provided information to the media about their split to generate publicity for his new rap career.

“My client, Mr. Iman Shumpert, has never whatsoever leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings in the Taylor/Shumpert divorce case,” Steele said. “Mr. Shumpert adamantly denies that he has provided any information to any media.”

The statement comes after Taylor accused Shumpert in court documents of playing a role in recent media reports that she claims misrepresented how their divorce ended. Taylor even went as far as to request that the judge sentence Shumpert to 20 days in jail, along with fines, for allegedly violating the confidentiality of their case.

Steele, however, reiterated Shumpert’s stance, emphasizing that the former NBA star has followed the court’s orders to keep the details of the divorce sealed. “As agreed by the parties, and as ordered by the court, he has not, and he will not disclose any of the contents of the now-sealed file,” Steele confirmed. “He has absolutely no interest in discussing any of these private and personal details with any media or any parties not directly involved with this case.”

Shumpert and Taylor, who first met in 2011, became a couple in 2013 and got engaged in 2015 before marrying in 2016. Taylor filed for divorce in January 2023, leading to the ongoing legal disputes between the two.
