Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Video “Lip Singing” Will’s “Parent’s Just Don’t Understand” With Tupac Got Everyone Talking
Before the release of her upcoming book, “Worthy,” Jada Pinkett-Smith took to Instagram to share a nostalgic video that ties into a chapter called “Advanced Degree.”
In the vintage clip, she and Tupac Shakur can be seen dancing and lip-syncing to Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s 1988 hit, “Parents Just Don’t Understand.”
This post evoked mixed reactions on social media, with some accusing her of disrespecting The Fresh Prince.
In her caption, she wrote, “CHAPTER – Advanced Degree,” reflecting on how she never could have imagined the close connection she would share with the Fresh Prince. She also reminisced about her time with Tupac at the Baltimore School for the Arts in the ’80s when they were just kids.
Their friendship, which began long before their fame, is a significant part of their shared history. It’s depicted in Tupac’s 2017 biopic, “All Eyez On Me.”
