Jim Jones Supports Drake’s Lawsuit Against Universal Music Group

Jim Jones is siding with Drake in his defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), which centers on Kendrick Lamar’s song “Not Like Us.” While the lawsuit has sparked confusion, Drake’s legal team has clarified that the case targets UMG—not Kendrick Lamar—for allegedly publishing, promoting, and monetizing false and harmful claims about Drake.

Appearing on the Broke N’ Frontin podcast, Jones praised Drake’s strategic move, comparing it to suing a major corporation like Amazon. “He didn’t sue Kendrick Lamar… He sued UMG, which is the biggest company that has the biggest bag,” Jones said, emphasizing the financial significance of the case.

“We suing everybody, n***a! Any one of them companies I get a chance to, playing at that level, to sue for billions? I’m going for it,” Jones added, noting that Drake’s target is the corporation, not the artist.

Jones likened the lawsuit to Tracy Morgan’s 2014 legal victory against Walmart after an accident, saying it’s about holding powerful entities accountable. “How the f**k we not gon’ be happy about somebody who gets a bag from one of the biggest companies that’s been raping everybody anyway?” he argued.

Drake’s lawsuit accuses UMG of pushing “Not Like Us,” which falsely labels him a sex offender, and allegedly using bots to inflate the song’s popularity. Jones sees the move as Drake using his influence and “turbulence” to force accountability from one of the industry’s most powerful players.
