After more than two months of strain following a vocal injury, K Camp shared an update with fans that he will undergo surgery to repair the problem.

The Atlanta rapper posted a video on Instagram about how he navigated the situation. The clip begins with a doctor explaining K Camp’s injury, saying, “A polyp is a result of an injury. Your vocal cords were torn and that caused an inflammatory reaction, and a polyp is a reaction to that.”

After, the clips cuts to K Camp in a car talking to his fan about the remedies he’s tried. “We are currently in the EMT because we had to go to another specialist to check my singing. I’ve been stressing my vocals a lot this year, so I’m dealing with my vocals being off for two months. I tried everything. I tried tea, vaporizers, inhalers, pills, I tried it,” he said.

He continued to express his feelings in the caption, assuring listeners that this obstacle will not derail his career. “Dear fans, I wanted to share some important news. I have voice surgery in a few days. The good news is that it is not cancer. Your support means the world to me. Let’s pray it doesn’t affect me or my music,” he concluded. “Thank you for your understanding and love during this time.”
