Lil Baby Denies Dissing Gunna in ‘Runnin’ This Shit’ Lyrics

Lil Baby has addressed fan speculation regarding his track “Runnin’ This Shit” from the deluxe edition of his album WHAM. Listeners interpreted the line, “I don’t care what he did, he a rat still / And I said what I said, don’t at me,” as a diss aimed at fellow rapper Gunna, who faced snitching allegations following his 2022 Alford plea in the YSL RICO case. In an interview with Complex, Lil Baby clarified that the lyrics were not directed at anyone specific, stating, “That’s just how I rap… If I was speaking on certain people and shit, I would say that.”
This clarification comes amid a backdrop of strained relationships between Gunna and other artists. Notably, Lil Baby has publicly distanced himself from Gunna, stating in a December 2024 interview with Charlamagne Tha God that they “don’t got no relationship” and expressing reluctance to collaborate again, even if encouraged by mutual associate Young Thug.
Despite the controversies, Lil Baby emphasizes that his lyrics are a reflection of his artistic expression rather than personal attacks.
