Lil Durk Hit With Two More Felony Charges In Murder-for-Hire Case, Facing Life in Prison

Lil Durk has been charged in a superseding federal grand jury indictment in which he’s accused of conspiring with other charged individuals to “murder a rival rapper,” prosecutors said Friday.

In a press release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California noted that the superseding indictment sees two new felony charges added in Durk’s case. Previously, he was charged in a criminal complaint. The newly revealed indictment, dated Nov. 7, sees the “Opportunist” artist added as the lead defendant.

Also charged in connection with the fatal August 2022 shooting in question are 28-year-old Kavon London Grant, 33-year-old Deandre Dontrell Wilson, 33-year-old Keith Jones, 33-year-old David Brian Lindsey, and 36-year-old Asa Houston.

While the rival is alleged to have been the target in the 2022 shooting, a relative was killed instead when shots were fired at a gas station in the Los Angeles area in August of that year. Durk is specifically accused conspiracy; use of interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death; and using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of those weapons in furtherance of a crime of violence causing death.

Arraignments for all defendants in the case are believed to be imminent. Each has the potential to face a maximum sentence of life behind bars if convicted as charged. The victim is named by prosecutors only as “T.B.” Mentioned in Friday’s news release is that Durk’s alleged feud with this individual stemmed from the 2020 shooting death of King Von, an Only the Family (OTF) artist.

Presumably, “T.B.” is Tyquian Bowman, a.k.a. Quando Rondo. In August 2022, Rondo’s cousin was killed in a shooting in Los Angeles. This is in line with the initial allegations made public in October upon Durk’s Florida arrest. At the time, Durk was confirmed to be held in Broward County for the U.S. Marshals. “Murder-for-hire” was listed as the charge. Just before news broke of Durk’s arrest, several individuals, all claimed to be associated with Durk and OTF, were taken into custody.
