The music world especially the Rock community is grieving as word of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington’s suicide hits headlines. He was 41.
Authorities say the Rock singer was found by his housekeeper this morning after he had apparently hanged himself at his California home. This is the second suicide to hit the Rock scene in just two months. Chester’s close friend and Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell allegedly committed suicide on May 18th, today would’ve been his birthday.
The Linkin Park singer was hit extremely hard by the death and wrote an open letter to his late friend:
Bennington has reportedly had a problem with drugs and alcohol for some time now and even admitted thinking about harming himself in the past after being abused by an older man when he was a child.
He leaves behind 6 kids from 2 wives. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
