Mark Morrison, the singer known for his hit song “Return of the Mack,” was arrested on a battery charge in Florida after allegedly striking the general manager of a high-end restaurant. The incident occurred on Saturday evening at Le Bar à Vin in Palm Beach, where Morrison reportedly became upset with the venue’s general manager, Nicola Lavacca, over an event he had been planning.

According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Morrison entered the restaurant and began yelling and cursing at Lavacca. Witnesses claimed the situation escalated when Morrison allegedly pushed the manager in the upper body. Lavacca did not retaliate, and a witness intervened, separating the two and escorting Morrison outside.

Based on the evidence, police arrested Morrison on a simple battery charge. A photo from the scene shows the singer in handcuffs, wearing a black shirt, khaki shorts, and yellow shoes. He was later photographed in a blue jumpsuit for his mugshot, appearing unhappy with the situation. Morrison was released from custody Sunday morning after posting a $1,000 bond.

Morrison’s attorney, Rick King, responded to the incident, describing the altercation as “a racially charged confrontation.” King stated that the dispute stemmed from an unpaid entertainment fee, but emphasized that the incident occurred in a context of racial tension. King reassured the public that Morrison is fully cooperating with authorities and is confident the facts will clear his name.

For now, Morrison’s legal team is urging the public to withhold judgment until the investigation is complete and all facts are presented.
