A resurfaced interview has ignited wild rumors surrounding rapper Meek Mill, suggesting that he was once taken hostage for ransom by members of the Rollin’ 60s Crips in Los Angeles, with rapper Rick Ross allegedly paying $50,000 to secure his release. These claims were made by gang affiliate Luce Cannon during an appearance on Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast.

According to Cannon, the confrontation began due to Meek Mill’s controversial social media activity, particularly his “reckless” behavior on Twitter. Cannon explained that Meek was confronted while performing at a club in Los Angeles. “We caught him at the club where he was performing at. As soon as he walked in, all of the security that was with him, they spun around. I grabbed cuz like, ‘Bro, wassup?’ I said, ‘Get on the phone with Ross,’” Cannon recounted.

Cannon went on to describe how Meek Mill was allegedly taken outside and held for ransom. He claimed that Rick Ross eventually paid $50,000 to secure the rapper’s freedom, emphasizing that the situation wasn’t a shakedown, but rather a “business transaction.” When asked if things could have escalated further without the payment, Cannon responded, “Yeah, of course.”

However, Meek Mill quickly denied these claims, addressing the situation via X (formerly Twitter). “This guy must be using a story to confuse his indictment because I never seen him B4 …I woulda put him to ‘gods test’ on the spot! I never even met buddy but I don’t ‘negotiate’ with fake thugs,” Meek Mill wrote. He also added, “Ask him what chain because all my chains some s**t lol watches all 300k up vibes.”

Despite the shocking nature of the claims, it seems Meek Mill is adamant about his innocence and is not backing down from his position. The dispute has raised questions about the authenticity of the story and whether the alleged incident even took place.
