PartyNextDoor Issues Apology to Tory Lanez After Previewing Diss Track

PartyNextDoor (PND) recently found himself at the center of controversy after releasing a diss track aimed at fellow Canadian artist Tory Lanez. In the song, PND rapped, “F*ck what Tory Lanez say… I’m running that,” adding fuel to the fire with lines like, “I did everything he did, he’s just a running man… drama man… I’m the daddy let me slap you okay.” He also accused Lanez of copying the sound of rapper Meek Mill, stating, “You said I sound like Thug… you know you sound like Meek… One day, you’ll be me…”

The track came after Party misinterpreted comments made by Lanez in a recently leaked phone call. In the call, Lanez, who is currently serving time in prison, mentioned, “F* PARTYNEXTDOOR showed his best work of 2025, f* Drake showed his best work in 2025, and now na it’s time for me to come out na.” PND took these words as a slight, assuming Lanez was throwing shade at him, when in fact, Lanez was praising his music.

Recognizing the misunderstanding, PartyNextDoor quickly issued an apology to Lanez. “I was told about what you said without hearing your video for myself. You didn’t say anything that I wouldn’t say myself, now that I seen it I was wrong. City is stronger together,” PND wrote, acknowledging his mistake and emphasizing unity within the Canadian music scene.

The situation highlights the power of communication and the importance of context in the music industry, reminding fans and artists alike how easy it is for misunderstandings to escalate.
