Patrick Mahomes, the 2x Super Bowl champ, rats on himself concerning on a game-day ritual during a recent appearance on Peyton and Eli’s “Manningcast” show. Apparently, Mahomes has been rocking the same pair of lucky red underwear for every NFL game since his rookie season, accumulating over 100 games.

The 28-year-old quarterback, known for his superstitions, confessed to the unusual tradition, which was initially revealed by his former backup QB, Chad Henne. When questioned by Eli about the choice of red underwear, Mahomes explained, “First, my wife Brittany got them for me. So I’m not throwing y’all down, but I have to wear them.” He added, “I only wear ’em for game day though so they’re not too worn down.”

The superstition seems to have brought Mahomes good luck, as the Chiefs had a successful 12-4 season in 2018 when he started donning the red drawers. Since then, the Chiefs have clinched 2 Super Bowls and secured numerous victories. As for the hygiene aspect, Mahomes admitted to occasionally washing the lucky underwear, but he joked, “If we’re on a hot streak I can’t wash ’em. I gotta keep it rollin’.” A like the great George Clinton said “You Can’t fake the funk” nor the wins! 🩲
