Project Pat’s Son, Patrick Houston Jr., Fatally Shot in Memphis

Patrick Houston Jr., the 21-year-old son of Memphis rap legend Project Pat, was tragically shot and killed last week in Memphis. The incident occurred in the historic Imogene Heights neighborhood, known for its deep cultural roots within the city’s Black community.

Together, the brothers helped establish Memphis as a hub for hip-hop in the ’90s and early 2000s.

Project Pat’s solo career soared with the release of his 2001 album Mista Don’t Play: Everythangs Workin, which earned gold certification. The album, a staple in Southern rap, was released just months before Houston Jr.’s birth, marking a significant era in the rapper’s life.
