Ryan Garcia Tested Positive For Ostarine And Denies Steroid Use
The ongoing narrative involving Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney persists.
Recent developments reveal that Garcia tested positive for the banned substance ostarine in two separate tests conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) leading up to his April 20 fight against Haney. Renowned boxing journalist Dan Rafael initially reported this information on Wednesday. Garcia’s positive results were recorded in both a pre-fight urine test on April 19 and a post-fight urine test on April 20.
Furthermore, Garcia’s April 19 sample also showed indications of 19-Norandrosterone, a metabolite of nandrolone and bolandione. However, confirmation of this finding awaits additional analysis through Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS).
Ostarine, a banned selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), has frequently been associated with various instances of contaminated supplement use in the past.
