Sean Kingston and Mother Found Guilty in $1 Million Wire Fraud Case

Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty on all five federal charges in a $1 million wire fraud case following a trial in Broward County, Florida. The “Beautiful Girls” singer and Turner were convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and multiple counts of wire fraud for defrauding businesses out of luxury items, including $480,000 worth of jewelry and a Cadillac Escalade valued at $159,701.49. The fraudulent activity occurred between April 2023 and March 2024, with fake wire transfers used to secure the items.
The emotional verdict saw Kingston in tears, pleading with authorities to protect his mother, who was immediately taken into federal custody. Both Kingston and Turner face up to 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for July 2025.
The trial, which began with jury selection on March 24, included testimony from victims such as a jeweler and a car salesman. Turner’s defense claimed she falsified documents to protect her son. The charges followed their arrests after a SWAT raid on Kingston’s home in May 2024. Both had pleaded not guilty throughout the trial.
