Wale and Azealia Banks have reignited their long-standing feud with a heated back-and-forth on social media. The drama kicked off on Wednesday, April 2nd, when Wale tweeted about his career’s consistency: “I’m not sellin my soul. I’m not playin them other games either .. ain’t no ‘era’ I ain’t never stopped… hope this helps wit the nostalgia bait.”

Banks quickly responded, taking shots at Wale’s music and delivery. “N***a the only hot song you ever made is ‘ridin in that black joint.’ It’s no shade,” she wrote, adding that his style felt “generic” and attributing it to his African roots. “U shoulda been African T-pain,” she said.

Wale fired back with humor, making light of Banks’ criticism. “Ngl … the chicken butcher lady sayin my only hit is off a video game I never played before is funny af… I don’t even think that song is on dsp. We Stan,” he responded, referencing a festival lineup featuring himself and T-Pain.

Undeterred, Banks doubled down, bringing up an old claim about Wale’s supposed “period panty fetish” and questioning his musical identity. Wale, in turn, sarcastically called out Banks’ tendency to critique others, saying, “My favorite thing on this app is you tellin everybody what they should be doing…life is hard af and yet you find time to tell everybody everywhere all the time how to do things … you are way too kind to us.”

The exchange quickly escalated, with Banks continuing to throw insults while Wale dismissed her critiques. Their rivalry, which has lasted nearly a decade, proves that some grudges never truly fade.
