Wendy Williams Moves to End Her Guardianship

Wendy Williams has formally requested the end of her guardianship, signing an affidavit on Wednesday (February 12) to remove her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrisey. The former talk show host claims she has “regained capacity” and is no longer suffering from frontotemporal dementia, which was diagnosed last year.

Williams is scheduled for a reevaluation on Tuesday (February 18) by a doctor chosen by her attorney. Following this, her legal team plans to file an “Emergency Order to Show Cause” to prompt a judge to decide if the guardianship should continue. If the petition is denied, they are prepared to demand a trial by jury.

This move comes after Williams publicly denied claims about her inability to function without guardianship, during an appearance on the “2 Angry Men” podcast. She also addressed the situation involving her son, Kevin Hunt Jr., whose financial actions led to the court’s decision to appoint a guardian, including the freezing of her accounts by Wells Fargo.

Williams described her son as “a good person” but criticized his financial decisions and actions that she believes led to her financial troubles. She is now seeking to regain full control of her life and finances.
