During a candid conversation on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe, Yung Miami made a surprising revelation — she is no longer signed to Quality Control Music. The news came as a response to Sharpe’s question about the label’s apparent hesitation in releasing her music.

When asked why Quality Control wouldn’t release her music, Yung Miami shared, “I’m not signed to Quality Control anymore. No.” She further explained her perspective on the pressures that come with being an artist, particularly after achieving success with her debut album.

She noted how the expectations following her success became overwhelming, explaining, “They expect so much more. You get what I’m saying? Like, it becomes so much pressure.” According to Yung Miami, this pressure can cause an artist to lose their sense of self, especially when the very qualities that made them beloved by fans are later criticized or rejected. “People really strip you away from your personality,” she said, adding that fans who once loved her for who she was began to expect a different version of her.

Yung Miami also spoke on the internal struggle artists face when trying to balance authenticity with the need to evolve and meet external expectations. “You want to please everybody, but you can’t please everybody,” she reflected. “And then it’s like, you start trying to create new things and come up with new things. And it’s just like, this ain’t really me, but I’m trying something different.”

Her comments shed light on the challenges of navigating the music industry while staying true to oneself. Despite the pressure and uncertainty, Yung Miami emphasized the importance of continuing to push forward and find her own path, even if it means stepping away from the label that helped launch her career.
