Kanye West Is Being Sued By Donna Summer’s Estate For Sample Used On Vultures Album

Kanye West is getting slapped with a lawsuit by Donna Summer’s estate, and it’s all about his track “Good (Don’t Die)” from his ‘Vultures’ album. So, here’s the deal – Kanye wanted to sample Donna’s iconic hit “I Feel Love” for his jam, but when Donna’s estate said no, he went ahead and used it anyway!

According to the lawsuit docs, Kanye and his crew approached Donna’s estate for clearance, but they straight-up rejected it. They were like, “Nah, fam, you can’t use Donna’s vibe.” But Kanye didn’t take no for an answer and dropped the album with the track included.

Now, here’s where it gets tricky. Kanye tried to get slick by using an interpolation of Donna’s song instead of the real deal. But Donna’s estate ain’t buying it – they’re saying, “Nice try, but that’s still copyright infringement, bro.”

Donna’s estate hit up all the streaming platforms to take down the song, and yeah, Kanye’s album disappeared for a hot minute. But now, “Good (Don’t Die)” is back off the playlist, even though it was streamed millions of times. That’s gotta hurt.

So, Donna’s estate is coming for Kanye’s wallet, demanding big bucks in damages and a ban on spreading the song with the unauthorized sample. Kanye’s camp hasn’t said squat yet, but you know this ain’t gonna end quietly.
