Teyana Taylor Unvailed as ‘The Masked Singer’ Winner

First Iman Shumpert victoriously danced all the way to the bank, as winner of Dancing with the Stars and now Harlem hero, Teyana Taylor-Shumpert was revealed as the winner of The Masked Singer.

Teyana bursted into our lives via MTV’s Super Sweet 16 in 2007 and since then it has been no secret that Teyana is a multi talented superstar. Unfortunately for years she was overlooked, under-booked and underrated as an artist. After years of giving the industry all she had, Teyana decided to retire and focus on her family, acting and her budding production company, “The Aunties”.

The mask singer gave Teyana the opportunity to showcase her talent without being prejudged. Throughout the season, the ”Firefly” won over the affection of the judges with her renditions of classic hits including including Michael Jackson’s “PYT”, Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody”, and she emotionally closed out the season with Robin Thicke’s hit “Lost Without You”.

Mrs. Taylor-Shumpert shared that she agreed to participate in the anonymous singing competition because she wanted to perform without the pressure of fame adding to her retirement from music this year. “I was like, this would be something really nice to do and just be able to sing again,” she explained. “It would be fun again and there’s no judgement. Nobody knows who’s behind the mask. You just get to sing your heart out.”

Well, she definitely sung her heart out and made the haters eat their hearts out!!!
