Tyrese Looking To ‘TKO’ Teddy Pendergrass’ Widow Over Biopic Rights

Tyrese Gibson’s caught up in another legal tangle, but this time, it’s not about Home Depot – it’s got Teddy Pendergrass in the mix.

The ‘Fast & Furious’ star’s production company, Voltron Entertainment, is taking legal action against Teddy’s widow, Joan Pendergrass, over the rights to Teddy’s biopic.

According to the docs, Tyrese is saying his company snagged the exclusive rights to Teddy’s life story way back in 2011, and Joan was all for it.

Tyrese is spilling the tea that Joan agreed to give him the rights to a book and movie about Teddy, and in return, Tyrese’s company would kick in some cash, use his celeb status to promote the projects, and honor Teddy’s legacy.

According to the suit, Tyrese and Voltron have poured around $450,000 into this project, working on it for nearly a decade.

But here’s where things get messy – Tyrese is claiming that Joan pulled a switcharoo in 2022 and refused to extend the option on the rights to Teddy’s life story.

That flip-flop, Tyrese says, has cost Voltron some serious coin, so he’s taking Joan to court, both as an individual and as Teddy’s estate executor, aiming for at least $1 million in damages. 💼💰🎥
